One of the first sushi bars in Bali, Ryoshi was established by Sagon Togasa in 1993. Back then, the food choices were quite limited, and it was difficult to find food that was not overly hot, spicy, or greasy. Being a native of Japan, Sagon missed the simplicity of good Japanese cuisine. Starting out as a place where his friends and family can enjoy healthy Japanese food using local produce, it has since grown to 6 different locations and a favorite of tourists and locals alike.
With so many gourmet restaurants opening up in Bali today, Ryoshi continues to focus on what has made them so successful for the past two decades, which is using only fresh, organic, local foods, providing dishes that are as healthy as possible whilst keeping the taste authentically Japanese.
